Let me introduce myself

My name is Lieselotte Kleinhans. I am a professional translator specialising in business and financial texts from English into German, with German being my native language.

Since 2009, I have been supporting international companies across various industries – including finance, investment banking, asset management, automotive, IT, and publishing – with high-quality translations of English-language content. My work includes the translation and proofreading of annual reports and financial statements, fund documentation, market commentaries, presentations, and official certificates. I also provide editing and proofreading services of German texts.

My passion for economics and finance began back in school when I read a book on the stock market by André Kostolany. That early interest turned into a lifelong enthusiasm for financial systems and economic contexts.

Languages are my second passion. Besides English, I speak Spanish and some French. I also hold the Großes Latinum (Advanced Latin Certificate), which has proven highly useful in learning and understanding other languages.

I completed my training and the state certification exam as an English translator at the Institut fuer Fremdsprachen und Auslandskunde (IFA) (Institute for Foreign Languages and International Studies) in Erlangen, and I was publicly appointed and sworn by the Regional Court of Nuremberg-Fuerth. Moreover, I am member of the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDUE), Bavaria.

Extended stays in both the UK and the US allowed me to further deepen my English skills and gain valuable intercultural experience. I developed my subject-matter expertise through academic studies in business administration at the universities of Frankfurt and Dortmund, and I continue to expand this knowledge through specialist reading, media, continuing professional development, and collaboration with experienced colleagues.
